CANDLE CARE

Candle Care Guide

Whilst lighting a candle can bring you comfort and relaxation after a long stressful day at work, the open flame of the candle is a potential fire hazard if not carefully monitored.

Please always keep in mind the following:

  • Never leave a burning candle, oil burner or wax warmer unattended. Put it out / turn it off before leaving the room;
  • Keep your candle, oil burner or wax warmer out of the reach of children and pets;
  • Place your candle, oil burner or wax warmer on a stable, heat resistant surface away from flammable objects before lighting; and
  • Keep away from direct sunlight to avoid melting & colour variations.

To enjoy your candles safely and to provide a better burning performance, please read and follow the candle, wax melt and oil burner instructions as outlined below:

Candle Care Guide

  • For container candles, allow enough time for the wax to melt completely to the edges of the container to prevent 'tunneling';
  • For decorative candles, allow the wax melt close to the edge during the first burn. Never move a lit candle. Always using a flat and heat resistant plate beneath to catch the melting wax;
  • Trim the wick to 4mm tall before you light your candle each time to keep the wax clean and burning nicely; and
  • Avoid burning your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

Wax Melt Care Guide

  • Place your wax melts in a melt approved wax warmer / burner and never add water;
  • Do not leave your warmer on for extended periods of time (max 3hrs at a time);
  • You can reuse your wax melt until the scent has faded. Once faded remove wax residue and add a new wax melt; and
  • To remove the solid wax from the warmer, simply turn on your warmer for less than 1 minute until the bottom surface of the wax melted. Then it will be easy to pull out the wax from the vessel.

Oil Burner Care Guide

  • Fill the ceramic / glass vessel 3 quarters with room temperature water;
  • Add about 3 to 5 drops of fragrance oil / essential oil each time and ignite the tea light below;
  • Do not burn without water;
  • Do not use cold water to hot vessel (the vessel may break); and
  • We do not recommend using our oil burner (Ceramic Elephant & Vintage Oil Burner) as a wax warmer, the excess burning of the wax melts can cause smoke due to the size of this burner.
